Old Friends, New Friends

I love friends, what a profound statement, huh! Really though, they are the closest thing you have to your family and I was blessed with such amazing friends (you should all be squirting tears by now, haha) Anyways, this weekend I got to catch up with new friends and to also make a new one! Lance Wahl invited everyone that lived in the Valley to his house for Sunday dinner. It was nice to see a lot of people that I hadn't seen in awhile. By the way, Lance is a pretty good cook, we were all pretty impressed! I'm so glad that my high school class is still close and we get to see each other every so often. I love to see everyone all grown up with all the responsibilities of being a grown-up, and we thought we were stressed out in high school! Sometimes it would be nice to be that carefree again! Oh, and about the new friend, me and my roommate went to family home evening last night and we picked up our home teacher who wanted to go with us, so we got there and did the whole FHE thing and our home teacher's home teacher was there and we ended up hanging out with both of them, it was really fun. It was cool to meet someone new cause I have found its a little hard to meet a lot of people here in Mesa (probably because I am used to Thatcher where everyone knows everyone)Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well, just want you all to know how grateful I am for you!

Until We Meet Again!

Crazy how time flies but it has already been six months since we lost Jen's husband, John. I have to tell you that is one of the hardest things you will ever go through to lose someone so young and so close to you. I have also never had such an amazing experience with a death. The peace that we felt when we arrived at Jennifer's house that night and that has continued since has been absolutely amazing. I don't think I have ever learned so many lifelong lessons as I did in that short week. I am so grateful that I have the gospel in my life, especially when stuff like that happens because we know that we will see John again and that he is where he is supposed to be... even though we wanted to be selfish and have him here! Even though Jen has bad days, she is so strong and doing very well. She is going to school to become a phlebotomist and she is also dating an amazing guy! Things have happened fast for her, but she has dealt with them like a champ, she never ceases to amaze me! Life is full of so many surprises but something good always seems to come from them and a lot of good has come already and we can't wait for more!

An apple a day...

Well, doctors suck! I had a doctor's appointment this last week with an endocrinologist because I needed a specialist who can help a little more with my diabetes than my regular doctor, who is in St. Johns (that's a little far away as well.) Anyways, this doctor gave me the work over, and she ordered all kinds of tests, which are never fun... So I have to get an ultrasound done on my thyroid and do a 24 hour urine test (yep that means I have to keep all of it for 24 hours and then take it to a lab!) just to name a few...I know that is probably too much information but I thought I would share anyways! I guess it is a blessing that I will have a really good doctor so I can be super healthy and maybe be cured one day, which would be SO nice! On a happier note, we had a housewarming party last night which was so fun, we really did nothing besides sitting around talking all night, but my roommates crush came over so she is floating on cloud nine, and he has a twin brother, so things could be looking up! haha We went to an ASU basketball game awhile back so that is what the pictures are from. Speaking of basketball, I get to play on a city league with Fraz (I guess Barney now!) and Kamarie, its gonna be so fun. Well, until next time, hope everyone is doing well and healthy and happy. LIFE IS GOOD!

When it rains, it pours...

Well, it is a beautiful Sunday and it is raining in Mesa, I love the smell of rain so we have all the doors and windows open so we can just smell it. Last Sunday I got to go to Bailey's little boys baby blessing. Chris did such an awesome job and it was so fun to get to catch up with all the people that went. It makes me miss high school! But at the same time it is so awesome to get to see everyone and their happy lives, who knew time would fly so fast! Well, I don't know that anything really exciting has happened lately, me and my roomate did move about a month ago and we are finally settled and loving our new apartment, it feels more like a home than our last apartment. I am looking for a new job cause the credit union life doesn't really suit me so I signed up to take my CNA test and maybe that will open up some job oppurtunities so I can get some practice for nursing school! I just got put in as a relief society teacher and taught my second lesson today, its amazing how much more you learn being a teacher, hopefully everyone else gets something out of it! Well that's Sharla in a nutshell...

My Very First One!

Well, I was never very into these whole online journal things, but then I got on this one to see all the new babies that my friends had...and I decided today that it wasn't so bad and I wanted to start my own. I am single so you obviously won't see any cute pictures of babies or me and my husband, but maybe one day that will come, as for now life is good being able to do whatever
I want whenever I want! I am working at SunWest Federal Credit Union as a teller, full-time, it has its ups and downs as I think every job probably does. I work with some very interesting people... one of which is my roommate, yep, we live and work and do everything together and the amazing part is that we aren't sick of each other! She is an awesome girl, and she's from Taylor so she likes all that small town stuff that I love! One exciting thing that happened was my cousin got married a couple of weeks ago in California and I got to go to Disneyland for the very first time! (I also got to fly there so I got two things checked off my list!) My cousins wife wore a dress... to her shins... so I thought I would share cause it was SO weird! Well, I guess thats the update on me for now!
