Hmmm...

Well forget about that last post cause I'm busy now! I'm about to start my third week and we definitely hit the ground runnin' this semester! Its been so good so far, things are actually starting to really make sense to me... My first round of clinicals I was assigned to shadow a school nurse and let me tell you how awesome of an experience that was! I was in a middle school and I didn't know how good it could feel just to put a band-aid on someone's scraped knee or give them an ice pack for their sprained ankles! I loved it! The kids are so dramatic though, it cracked me up... They would come in with a little headache and it was like the whole world was crashing down! So cute though...

In other news, I was planning on surprising Jaron for Valentine's Day so I bought the ticket and talked to his sister and mom and had everything planned but the little stinker some how managed to get it out of everyone that I was coming! I am really excited though, it feels like a long time since we have seen each other! He is coming down for my spring break in March so we are excited about that as well.. We wanted to go to a Suns game while he was here... Anyone got suggestions on the best place to get tickets? Cause I tried ticketmaster and that sucked, or else I don't know what I'm doing, so any help on that would be appreciated!



I got a new car too! The Jetta had a pretty high payment and it was still in Jen's name and we were both ready to get rid of it, so I got a 2001 Nissan Maxima and any of you that know me know that I want a new one of those one day, its my dream car! I love it! So when I graduate from nursing school, then I can upgrade to a new one! Yay!

A little bored...

Well, remember how I said that a month off of school is exactly what I needed after a long semester of being busy with it? Hmm, I think i am ready to be busy with it again! I have managed to stay sort of busy with cleaning house and running errands and doing laundry but lets be honest, there is only so much of that you can do! Me and the T.V. have become a little too friendly and its time to end it! However, my sister and I decided over Christmas break that we are going to train for a half marathon in May so I have started training for that... who knew that Sharla Liston would ever do something like that?! Me neither but I am super excited! I hope everything is super amazing for all of you...

Whoot!

Wow its been a busy little month! Christmas was awesome, my favorite gift was the new dining room set we got our parents, they were so surprised and they loved it! We also threw a fiftieth birthday party for my dad and that was really fun, it seems weird that I have a dad that old!

So, about Jaron... I flew up to Salt Lake on the 29th and I was so nervous! I was waiting for my bags to come down the shoot and I looked at my hands and they were shaking sooo bad! Jaron said the night before we met that the voice on the phone was finally gonna have a face... And the closer it got, the more real it got and the more nervous I got! Anyways, I got my bags and met him outside where he was waiting and it was awkward all of one second and then it was just like we had met a million times before! All that nervousness for nothing!

After he picked me up we met his family for dinner, yeah, I was a little nervous for that too but they are awesome and I felt comfortable right off the bat... After dinner, we went and walked around the Salt Lake Temple lights and somewhere in the midst of that Jaron held my hand! Whoot! We got to the front of the temple and were just standing there together looking at it and he kissed my cheek and then later went in for the kill and laid one on me! It was so cute!

I got to meet lots of his extended family as well and we had a really good time, he took me to see the second National Treasure which was really good except he picked crappy seats and I had this like 500 pound guy sitting next to me and he kept getting up and by the time he climbed back up the stairs he was so out of breath I thought I was gonna have to do CPR! It was funny... A little bittersweet to be home but we will see what the future holds, he could be a keeper!

Straight A's... Who needs em?

So I am officially 25% of a nurse! I did pretty well on my finals and managed to get B's in both of my classes, but I am not complaining, cause if that magic number says I passed I'll take it! We don't have to go back til like the fourteenth of January so I get to party for awhile before its time to take life seriously again!
In boy news, yes boy news, this girl I know also knows this boy that lives in Utah and we have been talking and texting for I think over a month now and I am going up on the 29th to meet him! I am so nervous but really excited! He is 22, 6'3, and really awesome! So I guess we will see what happens!
I am so excited for Christmas, I hope I get to see all of you while we are all in St. Johns...Merry Christmas!

Busy, Busy, Busy...

So the last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic! I had those two tests right after Thanksgiving break (which I did really well on, kinda surprising!) and then I think cause its the end of the semester, it just feels like I have a ton to do to get everything wrapped up! Speaking of being wrapped up, I am SO excited for Christmas! It so much fun to shop for everyone, my favorite part of Christmas is seeing everyone's reactions to their presents... I have a hard time keeping everything a secret, and I usually end up giving at least one present early. My mom always tells me when I have kids, I'm gonna have to go shopping on Christmas Eve so I won't blow it! Other than that I think my life is kinda boring, I wish there was more to report on! I hope everyone is doing well. Happy Holidays!

Three More Weeks!

Yep, only three weeks left of my first semester in nursing school! I don't think I could be more excited... I nice long one month break should be just the thing I need! Plus, I am so excited for next semester because its our Pediatric/ OB rotations and I want to go into labor and delivery when I get done so its gonna be a blast! (and a nice change from working at the nursing home, you can only change so many of those diapers before you really want to die... or gag.)

This last weekend Charlie came down and stayed with me so we could go to Aubrie's last game and for her baby shower. We had so much fun catchin up with the girls! (Thanks Bailey for driving, did you ever go get a refund from Jack-In-The-Box... the big jerks didn't give us our food!) Charlie got a lot of cute stuff and we all had a good time.

I wish there was more to tell, but that's pretty much my life... I'm looking forward to the holidays and getting to see my nieces and nephews, they are TOO FAR AWAY!

"Brick Wall Shar"

So this weekend I had all intentions of getting so much studying done for the two tests I have coming up this next week but of course a lot of fun things come up and the good student that I am thinks, "hmm, I'll just do it later!" Well, that's what I did! Taytum called me Saturday and said the volleyball team was playing for the state championship and so we ate and then headed out to Peoria for the game... The girls played so hard but lost (of course to one of those dumb private Christian schools that get to recruit, don't get me started!) and I relived every anxiety and pressure I had ever felt playing volleyball in high school. I miss it so much! As we were driving back to Mesa, I remembered this one really intense game we played against Mogollon. Our team was playing really well and I had stuffed a few volleyballs in a few girls faces, and the crowd was amazing, which of course helped our team play even better... so I had just blocked a ball and the crowd had cheered and kinda died down and just as it got kinda quiet, Blake Gray stood up and shouted at the top of his lungs "Brick Wall Shar!" Ok, so of course I turned bright red and everyone looks at him and then looks at me... um embarrassing, but so funny! We won that game and it was probably one of the best games we ever played! Congratulations to the St. Johns High Volleyball team for being the State runner-ups! ( It has been quite a few years since that has been done!)
