Another Day in Paradise

I haven't updated in awhile... hmm probably because my life is a little boring at the moment! My mom and sister came down this weekend and we did a whole lot of shopping (probably more than the wallet needed!) It was fun and they got to see my new apartment, and its nice when mom comes down and spoils me! I am also trying to get a grant to pay for nursing school, so everyone pray for me! I would really like not to have to work during nursing school cause I know its gonna be pretty crazy... In other news, my nephew got signed up for T-Ball, could that be any cuter? I am so sad that they are so far away cause I want to watch him play so bad! He was all excited when he called my mom to tell her, he goes "Grandma I signed up for T-ball and I get my own shirt and my own hat." I think that is the part that is most exciting for him! Well, a boring blog I know but hope everyone else is doing well! Until next time...peace out!
P.S. Look at my twin sisters! It's amazing how much these two look alike!

Hello, duh...

Well, an important part of my life that I forgot to mention (wow something cool happened so I better write about it..) I got into nursing school! I start on August 20th, and I got into Mesa Community College. I am so excited. It has been kinda hard to wait and to not know, but at the same time it was good to have a year off to recharge the ole batteries! I am excited to get back into the college life and actually be going to school for something that is going to get me a career, cause the pre-requisites you have to do to get to this point just seem so pointless. Plus after I get out of school and start working, I'll be a high-roller! hee hee So after August, see you all in 2009, my head might be stuck in a book! (I'm being a drama queen, I'm sure it won't be that bad and that's what I am going to keep telling myself!) Well hope life is good for everyone. Take Care!

Families Are Forever!

Like I said in my last blog I got to go to Utah for a few days and hang out with my family. It was so nice to get away from work and spend time with my family. It had been awhile since I had seen my niece and nephews. If they could be any cuter... oh my gosh! The things they say are so funny! Carson( Jen's little boy) and Treyson (Emilee's) were sitting in the kitchen and we were sitting in the other room and Treyson yells out "You're a butthead!" to Carson and without any hesitation Carson yelled back, "No I'm not!" and then they went back and forth with "uh-uh" and "yeah-huh" until we could get in there to break up their little fight (over who knows what!) They really do love each other but it is so funny to watch them interact and play, and you should hear those southern Utah drawals from Westyn and Treyson, it is HILARIOUS! They think they are as big as any adult and can do anything. We got to take a family picture even though it was windy and felt like five degrees below zero so we had to hurry, but they turned out pretty cute, we are gonna try and take another one this weekend. Jen's boyfriend got to come down and hang out with us, it was really fun to get to know him, he is a really awesome guy! I also got to use my sister's tanning bed, can you say Lobster...wow! Well, hope everyone is happy and healthy! Happy Easter!

Good Weekend!

Well, this weekend was a busy but really good one! I went to Thatcher to take my state boards to become a CERTIFIED nursing assistant... I was so nervous but it ended up not being as bad as I thought but I am still waiting for the test results (so cross your fingers)! I got to see all the St.Johns boys, they are all doing so well, and you can tell everyone in Thatcher is in love with 'em! Surprise, surprise... I also got to visit Charlie and Pete, their house is SO cute! I miss ya Char! I can't believe how hot it was in Thatcher, but I am sure it was way worse down here, this summer is gonna be a doosy(or however you spell that) Thank heavens for air conditioning! Oh and today we started our city league basketball team and we kinda got our butts kicked but it was really fun nonetheless, even though I didn't realize I was THAT out of shape! (Jess and Kam seemed like they agreed!) Anyways, I hope everyone is healthy, happy, and doing well!
P.S. I get to go to Utah in a couple of weeks, my nieces and nephews are getting so big and so adorable, they are pretty much the most amazing kids ever! (maybe a little biased but I don't think so!)

Reflections

I was just sitting here thinking about something to write today (cause I am kind of a boring person) and I was just thinking how great life is! I thought about all things that have happened since I have been out of high school and its weird to think that that much could happen in such a short amount of time. Everyone seems to be doing so well with families and jobs and new houses... what an amazing time of life this is! At the same time though, sometimes I feel overwhelmed with the things that I COULD be doing! It is really frustrating sitting around waiting to get into nursing school and working at something I don't want to do the rest of my life... I am probably gonna regret saying that when I actually am in nursing school and up to my head in studying and stress :-> So I guess I better live it up while I still have a social life... hee hee! Speaking of social life though, I had a couple friends down from Thatcher this weekend and we did alot of fun stuff, which means that I spent a lot of money because NOTHING is free in the Valley! Our new friend Tom that we met at FHE hung out with us all weekend as well, he has 16 brothers and sisters! Cool right!? He is a cool guy and apparantley has a little crush on me according to my roommate, so who knows maybe me and my husband will be on this soon! Guys... I am JUST KIDDING! Well, hope everyone is healthy, happy and wonderful!

Old Friends, New Friends

I love friends, what a profound statement, huh! Really though, they are the closest thing you have to your family and I was blessed with such amazing friends (you should all be squirting tears by now, haha) Anyways, this weekend I got to catch up with new friends and to also make a new one! Lance Wahl invited everyone that lived in the Valley to his house for Sunday dinner. It was nice to see a lot of people that I hadn't seen in awhile. By the way, Lance is a pretty good cook, we were all pretty impressed! I'm so glad that my high school class is still close and we get to see each other every so often. I love to see everyone all grown up with all the responsibilities of being a grown-up, and we thought we were stressed out in high school! Sometimes it would be nice to be that carefree again! Oh, and about the new friend, me and my roommate went to family home evening last night and we picked up our home teacher who wanted to go with us, so we got there and did the whole FHE thing and our home teacher's home teacher was there and we ended up hanging out with both of them, it was really fun. It was cool to meet someone new cause I have found its a little hard to meet a lot of people here in Mesa (probably because I am used to Thatcher where everyone knows everyone)Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well, just want you all to know how grateful I am for you!

Until We Meet Again!

Crazy how time flies but it has already been six months since we lost Jen's husband, John. I have to tell you that is one of the hardest things you will ever go through to lose someone so young and so close to you. I have also never had such an amazing experience with a death. The peace that we felt when we arrived at Jennifer's house that night and that has continued since has been absolutely amazing. I don't think I have ever learned so many lifelong lessons as I did in that short week. I am so grateful that I have the gospel in my life, especially when stuff like that happens because we know that we will see John again and that he is where he is supposed to be... even though we wanted to be selfish and have him here! Even though Jen has bad days, she is so strong and doing very well. She is going to school to become a phlebotomist and she is also dating an amazing guy! Things have happened fast for her, but she has dealt with them like a champ, she never ceases to amaze me! Life is full of so many surprises but something good always seems to come from them and a lot of good has come already and we can't wait for more!
