Easter Weekend

For Eater this year Jaron's family came for a visit! We had a great time... we went shopping, got pedicures (just the girls!), went to South Mountain to see the city lights, went to the Easter pageant, and to end the weekend, went to the GRAND CANYON! These first pictures are obviously of our trip to the Grand Canyon. We stayed in Flagstaff and drove to the Grand Canyon and then went back to Flag to stay the night, it was the first time Jaron, Amber, and I had been (sad for me because I have lived in Arizona my whole life and have never been!) This first picture of Amber is my favorite! So funny... Help ME! :->
Amber was brave enough to go out on this ledge, it made for a great picture! The Grand Canyon doesn't even look real because it is so big!

Us at the Easter pageant... I'm lucky enough to get to sit next to this guy!

This is the view of the city from the top of South Mountain... Pretty cool!
I was freezing... if it gets below sixty I need a parka! I'm such a desert rat now!

It was so nice to get to play and have fun with Jaron's family, always good to catch up! My sister Jen is running in a marathon this next weekend so I just wanna give her a little shout out for good luck... Jen, you are better person than me, I would die after a 1/2 mile!

Fossils and the Foys!

The other day Jaron and I both had the day off and we were trying to think of fun things to do after we had finished our errands... I mentioned a museum or something we could walk around. Jaron liked the museum idea so we headed to the Arizona Museum of Natural History! It was fun, we walked around and saw the dinosaurs, they had Arizona history stuff, space history, and we even mined for gold! We came home with a sweet rock magnet and some postcards (are we nerdy or what!) Here's some pics...
This picture was my ingenious idea, but it probably would have been cooler if you couldn't see Jaron taking the picture... HA HA
I'll just give a little update on us while I'm at it... Jaron is very busy doubled up on classes at UOP but he is doing really well and should be done with his Bachelor's aroun October- November!
My new job is awesome! It's so nice to not be scared to go to work at the prison! I love the staff and the patient's... We lost two patient's recently which was pretty hard, I want them all living! I just hope in some small way I eased their transition from this life to the next. I am grateful for the knowledge I have of where they are going. Anyways, Life is good in the Foy Neighborhood!

L-O-V-E!

Valentine's Day was great this year! For our first one being married, it was very special! We woke up Sunday and made breakfast and then Jaron was antsy pantsy for his present... So I caved and let him open it. I got him cologne and candy and that grape soda pin from the movie "UP"(That is like the best movie ever, so that was my cute, sentimental gift to him!) Anyways, we went to church and I knew Jaron had been planning a little getaway but I didn't know where we were going. After church, we packed a bag and headed out the door... Jaron loves to surprise me! He got us a room at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort, it was really fun! We got to hang out together and we ordered pizza and had it delivered, a very nice break to spend time together and forget about all the busyness at home! Jaron also surprised me with about a six chapter book about how we would have met in the future if we weren't already married... seriously it was the funniest, cutest thing ever! I laughed and cried my way through, Jaron is a very talented writer and I was extremely impressed! I'm spoiled! I seriously love this guy more than anything.... He makes my heart happy!
In other news, for the last two months I have been working at the prison in Florence, lovely huh? It has been an interesting experience to say the least. Anyways, I interviewed for another position about two weeks ago and I got it! I will be the RN supervisor at a long term care and rehab center. I will be on the rehab floor and I am so excited! I feel like I have gotten a lot of different experience these last few months, but I am ready to settle in and work somewhere on a more long term basis. Life is good in this neighborhood!

Best Drive-Thru Ever!

So the other night I was in the mood for a frosty, so Jaron and I headed to Wendy's drive-thru to pick one up... I was already in a giggly mood so maybe that is why this was so funny, but anyways, we pull up to the order spot and roll down the window and this is how the conversation went:

Wendy's guy: (In like the loudest, happiest voice ever!) HELLO! WELCOME TO WENDY'S!

Jaron: (Totally caught off guard and both of us are laughing from being blown away by the man in the speaker)... HELLO...

Wendy's guy: (Again really loud) WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY A BACONATER TODAY?

Jaron: NO, NOT TODAY...

Wendy's guy: (In the saddest most let down voice ever...) WHY NOT?

Ok, so why do you ask why not? I came for a frosty sir! Jaron and I were laughing so hard that tears were rolling down our cheeks and Jaron is trying to order and I can't stop laughing long enough to tell him what I want... This is one of those random moments that probably is not funny to the rest of you cause "you had to be there" but I had to document it. Plus it really is funny if Jaron can tell you with the voices... Anyways, that was my favorite trip to Wendy's by far!

The Foy's 2009

Well, 2009 was quite a year for Jaron and I as well as our families. We feel so blessed for all the great things that have come our way this year.
Jaron started school at the University of Phoenix to get his Bachelor's in Psychology. He will eventually get his Master's in Secondary Education so he can teach high school and coach football, his real love! He is doing well at work, which is also with UOP and I am very proud of all his accomplishments.
In May, I graduated from Mesa Community College with my degree in Nursing and passed my state boards in June so I am now an RN! A long road, but certainly worth the wait!
Our biggest accomplishment this year was that we tied the knot! Jaron and I were married August 28th, 2009 in the Mesa, AZ temple! What a blessing that was and has been to be married and sealed for time and eternity. Our wedding could not have gone any smoother, it was a wonderful experience, I would love to get married once a year just to remember all the excitement! We were able to Honeymoon on a cruise to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and we had a blast!
Jaron and our nephew, Rusty
In October, I started working for a travel nursing company and spent October, November, and December working as a substitute school nurse for 4th-6th graders, what a learning experience! Kids are so dang funny, I have some good memories from working there.
The holidays treated us well, we spent Thanksgiving in St. Johns and Christmas in Utah with Jaron's family. We left the weekend before Christmas for Utah and had a nice long week to relax and be with family! We went to a ton of movies, did a session in the Salt Lake temple, rode the new Frontrunner to the temple, had layovers in our travels in LA, Denver, and San Francisco, went to Jaron's favorite "buddy hangout" Iggy's with his two best friends and their wives, and froze our rears off! Here's some pics:

My adorable mother and sister in law sportin our new Christmas Eve PJ's!

Rusty's Christmas Picture, So CUTE! He is obsessed with bull riding just like his daddy! He says "Hey Bulls" and "Yee-HAWW" all the time, it is so adorable!
Hope everyone's year was wonderful, we are looking forward to the things 2010 has in store for us!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving Jaron and I went to St. Johns, we decided to switch off holidays and Christmas. We were the only ones that were able to make it so it was a pretty quiet holiday! We headed up Wednesday after Jaron got out of class. We lazed around all day Thursday and then had a wonderful feast at my Grandmas! Jaron was excited cause he wanted real food at a real grandmas! :> The day after Thanksgiving we decided to go to Show Low and watch movies instead of brave Black Friday... It is quite scary. We watched New Moon and then went to get lunch and ice cream and then watched The Christmas Carol in 3D. It was so awesome! I thought Jaron was gonna be sick for a minute cause it is really like you are flying around with the ghosts! We had a really good time! It was a nice relaxing weekend so I think we can make it til Christmas...

95 degrees?

Ok summer enough with you already! It is the first week of November and I could go lay out by the pool and get a tan... not cool. If you could just come back around May that would be great, I am ready for the cool fall and winter which is why I love to live in the valley! I just wish I could wear a hoodie or throw on some sweat pants when I get home, is that too much to ask?

In other news, there really isn't any! We had a fun halloween hanging out with a couple in our ward that is so awesome! We didn't get one trick-or-treater though.. I finally quit Applebee's as of Monday and I am currently subbing as a school nurse, its actually pretty fun! Something I would definitely love to do in the future. Jaron started up school again after taking a break for all the wedding happenings and last night when he got home he said he already had school burn-out... It's gonna be a long couple of years for him I fear! Life is great!
